And suddenly I lost all excitement for this game. Why would they change the foundation of THPS4?

Unfortunate for fans of THPS4 but fortunate for me!

I absolutely adore THPS3 but bounced off THPS4 pretty hard. I might actually properly play THPS4’s content in this remake.

Might be worth checking out ReThawed.. You can choose the physics models, UI, characters, tricks and maps from all of the old THPS games.

I tried THUGPRO previously (another community mod in similar vein) and it was fun, especially the mods to the park editor (overlapping objects!) and Sonic Adventure maps.

Is this windows only or is there a Linux variant? Maybe running it through proton?

Also, I get why a legal copy of American wasteland is required for legal reasons. But that game came out in 2005 (apparently for windows I learned today). Where am I even supposed to buy it if I wanted to, which I don’t really, and can I just use a PS2 iso file?

I happily ran THUGPRO under wine, so I assume rethawed would be the same. Dunno.

Where am I even supposed to buy it if I wanted to, which I don’t really,

Looks like it’s abandonware. Yeah, publisher dropped the ball.

I’m crossing my fingers the “Jackass-iness” of 4 will also be gone or drastically toned down as well.
