Our agricultural systems are artificially propped up by fertilizer usage. Those fertilizers are poisoning the water table, which we depend on for most of our biological functions as mammals. Agriculture has allowed our populations to explode. This won’t end well.

honestly wouldn’t be surprised if capitalism forced people to work for less than minimum wage anyway

I don’t see farmers looking past the next season, or not in this context at least. Most of them around me are trying to outrun their debts, or get bought out by large corps. Really not sure how to get them to be invested in the environment when they have been able to abuse it up to now

In Europe because of them (thoses bought by bigs corpos), we are going back on environment laws.
Thoses invested in the defence of the env, farmers and ecologists ones, are not showned.

Its like they dont exist in our capitalist system,
      Nothing will change, for now,

In france now, the big corpos ones, made “riot”, without being suppressed by the system (Police, acab, we know the story),
The ecologists ones ? Not the same story. Police were there.

A bunch of environmental destruction comes from industrial farming too, though, so overall no farmers would be a net positive for the environment.

Wow, hot take. I imagine you’re the first person in the lineup to starve to death, ahead of all those brown folks, eh.

Oh you’re spicy. Did you think I actually believe we should all just lie down and die? Like yeah I have days where that’s pretty high on my agenda, but I definitely prefer the current status quo of us slowly extinguishing ourselves in a hell of our own making. xoxo

Living in a city is better for the environment than living in a rural community. Many efficiencies to be gained by having things close together. Less land use, less pollution (yes, really), less energy use, fewer resources to spend on infrastructure.

Cities are good for the environment unless the alternative is killing their inhabitants. But i should hope we’re not advocating for that.
